Mangalore,June.13: A coconut tree was uprooted and fell on the electric wires, in Maroli Kembar, opposite to the KEB Office at around 2 am on Thursday, June 13, 2013. The tree was from a compound owned by Felix.
A Honda Activa and three electric poles have been damaged.
No one has been hurt, as the incident took place in the mid-night. The neighbours who came running out after hearing the high sound, infomed the MESCOM Staffs, after which, assuring the power cut off on the area, they then started to cut off the tree and clear out the road.
The locals claimed that the compound owner has been earlier warned to cut off these trees, as it was posing danger.
