Mangaluru, May 4: An Assam native- Sanjay Das who had misbehaved with a medical student in the city was arrested and produced before the court. Sanjay has been detained under judicial custody.
On the night of Saturday May 2nd, culprit Sanjay Das (22), had misbehaved with a medical student who was standing near Liquid Lounge near Jyoti Circle here. After this, Sanjay had tried to escape, but was chased by a friend of the student.
Friend of the said medical student has been identified as Harishil Shetty (23), a resident of Kalpane in Padavu, Mangaluru.
Harshil Shetty, who determinedly followed Sanjay, found that offender Sanjay was hiding in the fast food shop at Lighthouse Hill where he worked. Harshil Shetty then quarrelled with the owner of this shop, asking him to hand over the culprit.
The Bunder cops who arrived there, took control of the situation and asked Harshil Shetty to stop quarrelling. But he told them that he does not need any police to handle this issue, as he was confident of teaching a lesson on his own to the offender. He also pushed the three policemen.
Police later arrested Harshil along with culprit Sanjay Das and produced the duo in court, after which both were sent to judicial custody.
