Konkani study chair and research centre inaugurated at Mangalore university.

Mangaluru, June 12: The Konkani study chair and research centre was inaugurated by Karnataka Higher Education Minister RV Deshapande in Mangaluru University here on Friday, June 12th.

Addressing the gathered, Minister RV Deshpande said, through this study centre more study will be possible on Konkani language, art and culture. Already other study centres are going on well in the Mangalore University. It is good to listen that Konkani study centre is also added to this list now, he said.

Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed the ceremony.

During the ceremony MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Chancellor of Mangalore University Professor Byrappa, Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation Jacintha Alfred, President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Roy Castelino, Basti Vaman Shenoy were present.
