Mangaluru, July 16: The inauguration ceremony of Loyola Centre for Research and Innovations (LCRI) constructed at a cost of Rs 8 crores at the premises of St Aloysius College here took place on Wednesday, July 17th.

Director of Defence Food Research Laboratory, Mysuru Dr Harshavardhan Batra was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he gave a call to the young researchers and said research should not be taken as a part of studies, but it should be taken enthusiastically as a hobby, only then the outcome will be good. There are scanty opportunities for young researchers, they have to utilize the basic facilities available and conduct research with a view of country’s development, he suggested.
Shimogga Bishop Rev Dr Francis Serrao, blessed the new Science Research block and said construction of this block is a mile stone in the 135 years of history of the college.
Fr Densil Lobo welcomed while Principal of the college Fr Sweebert D’Silva,proposed the vote of thanks.
