Mangalore, June 25: Addressing the media reporters in the press meet held at party’s office M Veerappa Moily, union minister for petroleum and natural gas said in his address that minorities and poors should be helped.
Dr Moily informed to newly elected MLAs and ministers in his address that it is desirable to bring some amendments in religious field and lot more to be done as far as developments of the state.In this regard it is essential to have deep study and therefore we have to be always ready for public c support.
He also further said that Sonia Gandhi, national congress president had a great expectation about the result of recently held state assembly elections. Accordingly in return, along with giving four ministerial berths in the state cabinet, she also elevated another leader from the state in union government. This is the biggest ever gift to the state and with that responsibility of the government has also been increased, he added.
While speaking, he also said that with regard to aids and financial support to the victims of uttarakanda flood and resurrection of national monuments, a meeting with major oil companies has been arranged on June 25, Tuesday in Delhi, he added.
Further he said that in connection with central government’s mega project of LNG gasification, a thorough study has been done and by September or October foundation stone will be laid. From employment point of view this project is the need of the hour and without disturbing the peace of the people, prominence to be given to industrialization.
Also he informed about Suratkal-Kaikamba road concretization and rehabilitation works, final decision will be taken within ten days and oil companies will be intimated about the steps to be taken, he added.
Ramanatha Rai, minister for forest, ecology and environment and Abhayachandra Jain, minister for youth welfare and fisheries also spoke on the occasion.
