Shiradi Ghat to be opened for vehicular movement on Aug 10th: Minister Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru, August 3: District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai on Monday August 3rd announced that the newly-concreted 13 km stretch of Shiradi Ghat connecting Mangaluru and Bengaluru will open for traffic August 10th.

Addressing a press meet at the Circuit House here, Rai said, already discussions are held with the minister for public works. It has been decided to open the Shiradi Ghat on August 10th, after completing all the pending works along the stretch.

He also informed that on August 9th, he along with H C Mahadevappa- state minister for public works and former union minister Oscar Fernandes will visit the Shiradi Ghat stretch and the vehicular movement would be allowed from the next day.

D K Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, Former mayor Shashidar Hegde were present among others.
