Mangaluru, August 07: In connection to the detection of explosives in Ullal, the police have produced three suspected persons before the third additional session’s court in Mangaluru.
The accused are namely Shabbir Bhatkal, Sayyed Mohammed Naushad and Ahmed Bava Aboobacquer. They were arrested in connection to the allegations of explosive materials stored at a house at Mukkacherri in UllalI in 2007.
Among the three suspects, Naushad and Aboobacquer were produced before the court by the Mumbai police. Thirteen members are accused in this case; among them five have remained elusive. The four accused namely Javeed Ali, Mohammed Ali, Mohammed Rafeek and Fakir Ahmed have come out on bail. Shabeer Bhatkal has been detained in Mangaluru district jail.
In 2007, based on reliable information the police raided on a house in Mukkacherri at Ullal and seized the explosive materials found there. Pertaining to this case, the police had arrested total of six suspected persons -two persons from Ullal and four persons from Mangaluru.
Against all the arrested accused, a case was filed under anti-terror law and illegal possession of weapons.
