Meanwhile, son of A B Vegas who opened the door of the locker learnt about the theft. Immediately after enquiring Saraswathi who had arranged the labourers for the house and also under suspicions, a complaint was filed on August 6th at the Puttur town police station.

Immediately, while the police checked the mobile and bank account of Anusha, the matter came to light. The information was available that the accused had pledged the stolen golden bangles in Rajadhani jewellers in Puttur and took loan of Rs 70,000 on it. Out of this money, they had purchased chain, locket and ring. The rest of the amount was deposited to the bank account of Sumitra.

Another chain was pledged in finance at Sakleshpura and a loan of Rs 30,000 was taken over it. When the bank account was checked, the information of money transferred was obtained. When the mobile was tracked, it came to light that Anusha’s friend Lokesh and Gopi who was with Lokesh was also involved in the theft. The police immediately plunged into action and arrested all the four from Narvey of Sakleshpur.

Apart from Anusha and Lokesh, the other two did not know each other. Two months of friendship had provoked Anusha and Sumitra for theft. On the other hand, it is suspected that Gopi might have joined with Lokesh with a desire for want of money.
