Moodbidri/Mangalore, June 26: Sources said that a departmental enquiry has been ordered against the warden of Kadandaly Poopadikallina Pre Matric Hostel, for engaging three students residing in the hostel, in his household chores.
It was told that Dakshina Kannada department of backward classes and minority welfare District officer Arun Furtado along with Taluk Extension officer H A Ramu and Child Helpline members collected information on the accused warden Babu.
The investigation officers also visited the Kadandhale Subramanya Swamy High school and met the students, the Head teacher Shankar Narayan and collected information. During the inquiry, they have fund that warden Babu had made 10th standard students to work in his house and field in Kanthavar on 23rd June, said the official. The warden was also not aware of the number of the students residing in the hostel.
The authorities have served a show cause notice to the warden.
