Mangaluru, Aug 13:The Mangaluru’s most famous restaurateur anjunath Pai, (42) better known as ‘Giri Manja’ passed away due to cardiac arrest here on Wednesday August 12.
Manjunath Pai is most famously known for his ‘Giri Manja’s’ restaurant in lower Car Street, which he set up more than two decades ago. The restaurant over the years has achieved name and fame for its authentic GSB cuisine, particularly for its fresh seafood which is its speciality.
The restaurant, which still retains the old-world charm and affordable prices, has even been featured by national channels like NDTV and others.
His sudden death has brought a pall of gloom among his fans, many of whom are the youth. Fondly called Manjanna by his loyal customers, Giri Manja is highly respected for keeping authentic Mangalurean cuisine alive and affordable to all, and for his warmth and hospitality.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
