Mangaluru, August 19: Nagara Panchami, the festival of serpent god, is being celebrated with great devotion and gratitude across the coastal Karnataka on Wednesday August 19th.

People visit the temples from early in the morning, offer tender coconut water, milk, honey, turmeric, sugar, ghee, curds, flowers especially the “Hingara”(flower of arecanut tree) to appease the serpent god.

People of Coastal Karnataka also visit their ancestral place and offer poojas to the serpent god.
