Bike borne thieves snatch Mangalsutra chain from woman’s neck in Tallur.

Kundapur, August 19: Bike borne thieves snatched mangalsutra chain from the neck of a woman while she was waiting for bus at the bus stop in Tallur near Kundapur on Wednesday afternoon, August 19th.

Seetha resident of Karkunje near Neralakatte in Kundapur has lost her mangalsutra chain of weight 8pavans and estimated value of Rs 2.5 lakhs.

Seetha along with her husband Teja had visited a doctor at Tallur to get treatment for leg pain. Doctor advised her to get the X-ray image. She along with her husband was waiting for the bus at the bus stop to go to Kundapur to get the X-ray done.

Meanwhile, two bike borne men approached her. The pillion rider snatched away her mangalsutra chain and fled swiftly towards Kundapur.

The locals immediately informed the Kundapur police.

Although the police attempted to stop the bike at Shastri circle in Kundapur; the bike borne thieves escaped with high speed. The police followed the bike for a long distance, but in vain.

Eye witnesses said, the thieves arrived in black pulsar bike. The rider was wearing helmet while the pillion was wearing a blue T-shirt.

Sources said, a car in which four members were travelling was following the bike and is suspected to have some link between them. It is believed that a wide network may be present behind the theft. Such kind of thefts were said to have taken place in the morning at Karwar and also in Bhatkal at around 10am, as per the sources.

Kundapur police have gathered information from Seetha who lost the chain and also the locals and are searching to nab the accused.
