Mangaluru, August 22: Two youths on a bike approached a woman, snatched gold chain from her neck and sped away. The incident occurred near the Balambhat Hall in Car Street here in Friday, August 21st.
Chandralekha (61), resident of Alake has lost her chain.
On Friday at around 6.15am, Chandralekha was walking towards Sharavu Mahaganapathy temple from Venkatramana Temple situated in Car Street here. As she reached Balambhat Hall, a bike had arrived from behind. The pillion rider on the bike wearing a monkey cap snatched away the gold chain from her neck and fled from the spot.
The value of the gold chain is estimated at Rs 42,000 and weighs 2.25 pavans.
A case stands registered at Bunder police station and investigations are underway.
