Mangaluru, August 24: Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF), Dubai distributed scholarships to 600 deserving students and 60 wheelchairs free of cost to the needy people in a ceremony held at Loyola Hall, St Aloysius College in Mangaluru on Sunday August 23rd.
The programme began with a prayer after which BCF patron B M Mumtaz Ali welcomed the gathering.
Al-Haj K S Atakoya Thangal performed the Dua.
Health Minister U T Khader inaugurated the event.
BCF President Dr BK Yusuf presided over the program. Hassan Darvesh, Chairman, Darvesh Group UAE, President of Fizza Group of Institutions B M Farooq and President of Beary’s educational Institutions Sayyed Beary was present on this occasion.
District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Mohiuddin Bava, MLA J R Lobo, MAL Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Dr M Vijaya Kumar, vice-chancellor of Yenepoya University, B M Farookh, chairman, Fiza Group, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Ibrahim Kodijal- MUDA chairman, Dr Thumbe Mohiuddin, President of Gulf Medical University, Usman Muloor, president, BCF scholarship committee, Dubai, M E Muloor, vice-president, BCF, Dubai and others participated as the chief guest on this occasion.
M Hassan Darvesh, chairman of Darvesh Group and BCF ambassador, UAE and S M Sherif, chairman of Kushi Group, UAE were conferred the ‘CSR Special Award’ and K S Saheed Karnire was honoured with ‘Star of Bearys 2015’ award. Toppers of the district in PUC in the stream of arts, science and commerce and two achievers in sports were felicitated.
On the same occasion, as many as 600 economically backward PUC students were awarded scholarships, and 60 differently-abled of the DK and Udupi districts were distributed wheelchairs for free of cost.
Career guidance symposium:
A career guidance symposium by Prof Dr Kaup Mohammed, dean of UAE London American City College was organized in the morning from 9am to 12:30pm.
Riyaz Ahmed- President of Talents Research Foundation, Mangaluru provided information about the scholarships provided to the minorities.
Usman Mooluru -President of BCF Scholarship Committee, Dubai, M E Mooluru- Vice-President of Bearys Cultural Forum, Dubai, B M Mumtaz Ali – Guardian of the Forum, program organizer B A Nazeer and other were present on the dais.
