Mangaluru, August 26: Kannada Medium Award is one among the premier programs of the Kannada Development Authority. To encourage the students in other states for pursuing education in Kananda Medium and build confidence among them, they are felicitated and honoured.
Kannada Development Authority, has taken initiative to honour the Kerala students who study in Kannada medium and top in SSLC exams. This initiative is taken with an intention that more students in other states must learn Kananda language. This felicitation will be given to the first three school toppers. This felicitation comprises of Rs 10,000 for (A+) score, Rs 9,000 for (A) score, memento, citation, wrist watch, school bag, Kannada-Kannada dictionary, Kannada-English dictionary and penset.
From the past three years 219 students who passed SSLC in Kerala have been felicitated with Kannada Medium award.
The 83 Kerala students who passed SSLC in the current 2015-2016 year were felicitated with Kananda Medium Award.
The felicitation program was organized at Municipal hall in Pilikunje in Kasargod District, Kerala.
The event was inaugurated by president of Kannada Development Authority Dr L Hanumantaiah and presided over by MLA of Kasargod Constituency- N A Nellikunnu.
MLA of Manjeshwar constituency, PB Abdul Razak was the chief guest on this occasion.
Deputy Commissioner of Kasargod P S Mohammed Sagir and District Superintendent of police Dr Srinivas conferred the awards and felicitated the students.
Kasargod district BEO E Venugopalan, president of Kasargod- Kerala region Kananda medium teachers association T d Sadashivarao, President of Kasargod Karnataka Samiti Muralidhar Ballakuraya and many other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
