Ullal, August 31: In connection to the murder of auto rickshaw driver Hidayatulla, the police have arrested his first wife Fazeela and have produced in the court. A case of provocation to murder has been registered against her.
The accused in the pretext of customers had taken the auto driver to a secluded place and crushed the driver’s head using a boulder, assaulted using sticks and then placed the dead body inside the auto rickshaw and had fled from the spot.
Hidayatulla had phoned his wife and had said that he would return late as he was going with customers for hire and that he would also bring supper while returning. Later Hidayatulla’s mobile had appeared switched off. On Saturday morning, Hidayatulla’s brother Haneef Ullal had registered a complaint at Ullal police station.
People who noticed the auto-rickshaw and the dead body inside the auto parked at a secluded place near Natekal, informed the matter to the police. The brother of Haneef said in the complaint that two days ago, Hidayatulla was threatened of life by Farooq, the brother of Hidayatulla’s first wife.
As per the complaint, Hidayatulla’s first wife has been arrested on the charges of provoking for murder, informed the police. Although it is said that the deceased Hidayatulla was married twice, there are information’s that he was married thrice. The first marriage was with a woman from Mulara in Moodbidri, who was later divorced due to personal reasons. The second wedding had taken place with a woman from locality who was also divorced two years ago after a kid was born to the couple. The third wedding had taken place ten months ago and that she is conceiving, it is learnt.
The spot of murder is a non residential area. There are information’s that on Friday evening, two youths were loitering speciously in this place. Many people are visiting this place to purchase land, and the locals suspect that whether the youths have visited the place for the same reason or to fix the spot for murder. The Ullal police have undertaken brisk investigations.
