The accident occurred due to the negligent driving and also as the driver of the container moving towards Kundapur was in a bid to overtake who dashed his vehicle head on to container arriving from opposite side. Another container was plying towards Goa and people had to struggle a lot as the leg of the driver of this container got stuck in the jammed vehicle, it is learnt.

As one of the containers had dashed to the electric pole, pole was completely cut and was seen hanging from wire. There would have been a major mishap in case diesel had leaked from a container.

Vehicular movement was effected for over an hour post the accident.

The locals helped the container driver to come out who was struck inside. The vehicles were separated with the help of cranes.

Byndur police arrived at the spot and investigated.
