Puttur, December 17: The decomposed human remains that were recently found at Bhaktakodi falling under Mundoor gram panchayat limits was that of a youth, revealed the investigations by the forensic department.
It is believed that the body of the youth aged between 25 to 35 years might have been 5.6 feet tall.
The skeletal remains that was found in sacks at various spots in the vicinity had aroused wide suspicions among the locals.
Higher police authorities have visited the spot and expressed suspicions that this might be a planned murder. Police have taken up investigations in various dimensions.
The crime forensic science department that had visited the spot and had taken the mortal remains to the lab has revealed this information after conducting the tests. This has given new dimensions for police investigations. Although there were no blood stains in the place where the body was found, a T-shirt and a piece of belt were found at the spot, which has been taken into custody.
Under the directions of DK district Superintendent of Police Dr S D Sharanappa, the investigations are carried out led by Puttur rural police station SI Ravi B S and the police express hopes of cracking the case soon.
