Young woman missing from Mangaluru found dead in burnt state in Yekkar.

Mangaluru, December 19: A young woman who went missing from Mangaluru on Thursday, December 17th was found dead in a burnt state on Friday, December 18th in Yekkar near Bajpe.

The deceased woman is identified as Usha Shetty, wife of Ashwin Shetty, resident of Jappina Mogeru in Mangaluru.

Usha Shetty was employed in Mandovi motors showroom in Mangaluru. She had gone missing from Thursday afternoon. In this regard, her husband Ashwin Shetty had filed a missing complaint with the Mangaluru police.

The police, who began the investigations based on the complaint, found that the women’s mobile signal tower location was showing as Yekkar.

The police immediately swung into action and began searching near Yekkar  taking the help of locals and found the dead body of Usha Shetty in a burnt state in a trench by the side of the way to Kodimanittaya temple in Yekkar.

Petrol bottle, bag, and medicine prescription was found close to the dead body which has paved way for suspicions.

The deceased woman was the mother of two, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, the locals have informed that they saw the woman going to a shop in Yekkar at about 3pm on Thursday and later she had left the place in a car that arrived from Kateel side. This has further heightened the doubts.

The senior police officials visited the spot and have ordered a high level probe into the case, it is said.

Following this, the Bajpe police registered a case of suspicious death and have begun high level probe into the matter.
