Mangalore, July 14: Ramanatha Rai, minister for forest, ecology and environment and district in-charge has inaugurated newly constructed dakshina Kannada zilla Panchayat sub administrative engineers office on July 13, Saturday at Bondel.
Addressing the media after inauguration Rai said in his inaugural speech that engineers role in the development, progress of the districts, taluks and villages are paramount importance. They should be very dynamic and pro-active. If they execute their duties very sincerely and with much dedication there will not any dearth for the development of the area, he added.
Abhayachandra Jain, minister for youth welfare and sports affairs said in his speech that engineers must be very dedicated, sincere and dynamic. With the active participation of engineers, the project which is moving at slow pace can be accelerated and output can be doubled, he added.
Besides he also said that engineering department has got great deal of responsibility. If any project is not finished on time, people will question representatives and therefore it is the duty of the engineers to finish the allotted task on stipulated time. They have to visit the site of the project and review the progress. In Maravoor and Kinnigoli drinking water projects are in progress and engineers must see that the projects are finished on time.
On the occasion Sudhakar Shetty, building contractor and engineer Krishna Kumar have been felicitated.
