Mangaluru, December 21: Theatres in the city was raided by activists of Bhajang Dal on Sunday, December 20th; who stopped the show of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s latest movie ‘Dilwale’ directed by Rohit Shetty.
In protest against Shah Rukh Khan’s statement on ‘intolerance’ made on November 2nd, the Bhajrang Dal activists raided the theatres. He had later reportedly retracted it and apologized. Theatres in Forum Fiza Mall, City Centre Mall and Bharat Mall, were raided by the activists who forcibly stopped the screening of the film.
Throughout the country, protests were also done by VHP, Bajrang Dal and other right-wing outfits against the Bollywood superstar.
Sources said, the screening of the movie was stopped in the theatres, in consideration of the security concerns.
Bajrang Dal convenor Sharan Pumpwell speaking to the media confirmed the raids and said, the activists stopped the screening of the movie in the malls. This was done in protest against Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s statement on intolerance, he said.
