Udipi, March.20: Some Hindu groups in the vicinity of Hoode, Thonse trying to disturb the peace amongst the residents by indulging in unwanted activites.Udipi District Muslim Vokkoota in their memorandum urged the SP to take stringent action against the miscreants who indulged in disrupting peace and harmony amongst the people of the area.
It has been alleged by the Sangha Parivar that last Tuesday around 7.30 in the evening a calf, was being brought to the house of Mr.B.K.Javed Son of Usman Saheb, Bengre for slaughter. In the counter allegation made by the minority community calf was being forcibly taken under the custody of police at the instance of Sangha Parivar and shifted to Goshaala. Besides few miscreants pelted stones and hurled filthy languages against the people of the Javed’s house and community forcing the police to resort to lathi charging.
It has also been alleged in the memorandum that some elements of the said group have attacked the people of Muslim community who were returning home after finishing their prayer and harassed. Even old people were not spared. On the following morning in Malpe, Santhekatte Sangha Parivar brought some people in two wheeler and were trying to create the situation more tenser.
It has been alleged that Mr.Shivaprasad-Paduthonse Bengre, Prashanth, Jayapalan, Harsha Raj-Hoode, Gangadhara KodiBengre etc have played a major role in the incident.
It is stated in the memorandum that from all these unruly incidences local Muslim community people are living under threat and fear. Therefore activities of those anti social elements to be restrained and justice to be meted to the minority community people and make a room to create a atmosphere of harmony and peace amongst other community people.
Reason behind the whole incident: A calf which was in the house of Mr.B.K.Javed-Paduthonse since six months was the real reason for furore in the vicinity. People who noticed the calf in the house of Mr.B.K.Javed reported the matter to Malpe Police and who in turn rushed to the spot and enquired about the Calf with Mr.Javed. Mr.Javed has said in his statement that the calf is being taken care of by me (Javed) since six months. When he failed to answer to police from where it has been brought police got suspicious and understanding the situation calf has been taken under the custody of police and transported to Neelawara Goshaala.
In order to avoid recurrence of the incidents a tight security under the leadership of Mr.Prabhudev Mane, DYSP, has been provided in the area. Four circle Inspectors, Six SIs,RAF and DAR Police forces have been posted in the avicinity. Now the situation is under control as reported.
