Pratapchandra Shetty got MLC tickets due to his clean image: Minister UT Khader

Mangaluru, December 24: State Health and Family welfare Minister U T Kahder said, Pratapchandra Shetty has managed to maintain a clean image and hence he was given another chance to contest in the MLC elections.

Speaking to the media persons at Eden Club here on December 24th, Khader said, Pratapchandra Shetty during his earlier term, Pratapchandra has visited the panchayats and is an active leader of the party. He has managed to maintain a clean image. So, the senior leaders in the party gave him another chance to contest in the MLC elections. I was there during one of his visits to a panchayat, he said.

When asked about independent candidates Jayaprakash Hegde and Harikrishna Bantwal who were expelled from the party, he said, patience is needed if one has to excel in the party. Khader also said about the instance in which his father late U T Fareed was denied the ticket despite he had won the earlier elections by a margin of 20,000 votes. Due to his sincere work, after 16 years, he was given the ticket, he said.

Ayush Conference:

The minister also informed that from January 3rd to January 7th, the state health department will organize an international AYUSH conference in Bengaluru in association with the union government, Vivekananda Vyasa Institute and SDM College of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences. Delegates from various universities across the globe will participate in the event.
