Mangaluru, December 25: Four day long cultural extravaganza “Alva’s Virasat-2015” organized by the Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri was inaugurated by Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dr D Veerendra Heggade on the evening of Thursday, December 24th.
Addressing the gathering Dr D Veerendra Heggade said, the students must inculcate the habit of enjoying the art, literature, and cultural programs in their lives. The universities around the globe should conduct a study about Alva’s Educational Institution which is increasing the quality of education through the extracurricular activities along with education.
The event was presided over by state Youth Service and Fisheries Minister K Abhaychandra Jain.
Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, Dr Mohan Alva welcomed the gathering.
Hemavathi V Heggade, former Minister K Amarnatha Shetty, S.C.D.C.C. bank president Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, Kannada and Culture Department director K.A. Dayananda, administrative director and CEO of Canara Bank- Rakesh Sharma, administrative director and CEO of Karnataka Bank P Jayaram Bhat, and many others were present.
‘Alva’s Virasat’- 2015 award presented:
On this occasion, background singer, singer, actor, music director Padmashree, Padmabhushan Dr S.P Balasubramanyam was presented with prestigious ‘Alva’s Virasat-2015’ award and felicitated. This award comprised of a certificate, Rs 1,00,000 and memento.
Lecturer Venugopal Shetty compeered the event and proposed the vote of thanks.
Awesome cultural programs were showcased after the stage program. Dr SP Balasubramanyam and team performed the ‘Sangeeta Rasamanjari’.
