Mangalore, July 16: High speed milk packing machine and special sale offer scheme has been inaugurated by M N chairman Rajendra Kumar, SCDCC bank chairman at the DK district milk producers’ union, Kulashekar on July 15, Monday.
Addressing the media chairman said in his inaugural address that in view of meeting the increasing demand of dairy products in the district venturing in to new innovative ideas like modern technology will definitely help the union to go long way in satisfying the needs of the customers and in this context KMF is always in the front line in terms of supplying quality milk and government must encourage the union in whatever the way it feel deem fit in the growth of the union.
He also said that SCDCC is the only one institution, which plays an important role in getting the facilities, benefits directly to the benefactors and in this context bank is offering loan to the farmers, those possess lands at the 3% interest.
Besides, he also pointed out that farmers do not consider dairy farming as a lucrative venture because of the high production cost involved in it. He added further that subsidy of Rs 4 per litre of milk provided by the government is in fact a boon that encourage, motivate dairy farmers.
Dr B V Satyanarayana, MD informed that high speed milk packing machine has been installed at the cost of 12 lac and will have the capacity of pacing 8000 to 10000 packets of milk per an hour.
Raviraj Hegde,President,DK district co-operative milk producers union said in his presidential speech that in a bid to achieve self- sufficiency in dairy farming, union has launched a calf -rearing scheme. Union will also launch a new product cashewburfi during co-operative week and is contemplating to set up a unit to manufacture other milk products, he informed.
He also further said that union will organize a special sales promotion scheme starting from July 15 till the end of September, wherein lucky purchases of Nandini products like mysorepak, Peda and other Nandini bites, which will attract very special and attractive prizes including one gram gold and silver coins.
Besides, mango flavored Lassi will be sold at discounted rate of Rs 2/per packet and even distributors, dealers are also allowed to participate in the promotion and they are entitled to get one bottle free on every purchase of box of five different flavours of nandini products, informed Dr B V Satyanarayan,MD.
He also informed that union has also decided to set up a plant, wherein milk is being packed in flex plastic for longer shelf life i.e thirty days expiry from the date of production for the convenience of the distributors, dealers to store the milk where there is no fridge facility permanently and for this project government has sanctioned Rs 26.05 crore on July 01, he said
M N Rajendra, who received doctorate degree from Colombo University, has been felicitated on the occasion on behalf of Okkota.
