Islamic Scholar Dr Zakir Naik banned from entering into city: Muslim associations condemn the move.

Mangaluru, December 29: Various Muslim associations in the Dakshina Kannada district convened a meeting on Monday, December 28th to discuss on the ban imposed to the entry of Islamic Scholar Dr Zakir Naik into the city. The meeting witnessed expression of strong condemnation over the move.

South Karnataka Salafi Movement (SKSM) had organized a ‘Mangaluru Peace conference’ in which Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik was scheduled to deliver a talk.

In the meeting, the leaders of various associations condemned the move of ban imposed to the entry of Dr Zakir Naik into the city; by the city police commissioner S Murugan and the state government. It was decided in the meeting that in future, all the Muslim organizations would protest against this on the same platform.

The meeting was presided over by former Chairman Ahmed Ansar.

B.M. Abdurrahman Basha, president of Uppinangady central Jumma Masjid- Musthafa Kempi, SDPI district president- Haneef Khan Kodaje, PFI district president-Haneef Katipalla, Mohammed Kunji of Jamaath Islami Hind, UNIVEF state president- Rafiuddin Kudroli, HIF president-Asif, Hope Foundation president-Saif, Ibrahim of Hidaya Foundation, JDS Dakshina Kannada district president Mohammed Kunji Vittal, president of meat traders association-Abdul Khader, Abusalam of T.C. Groups, and others in the meet condemned the move of the commissioner.

Dr Habiburrahman, presidency Hyder, D.M. Aslum, corporators such as Abduuul Haziz, Abdullatif and congress leader Fazlurrahman were present.

K Abdurrahman welcomed. Sharif Mulki compeered the program and proposed the vote of thanks.
