Udupi, December 31: A youngster expired and another man suffered serious injuries in an accident that took place near Padebettu arch here on Thursday December 31st.
The deceased is identified as Dileep (22).
It is said, the accident occurred when a scooter hit a bus from behind in an attempt to overtake.
It is gathered that, Dileep, was riding the scooter with his friend Ranjan as pillion rider were going to Suzlon company’s office for some work there. When they were reaching near Suzlon company’s office, in an attempt to overtake a bus belonging to Suzlon company, Dileep collided to the bus from behind.
As a result Dileep died on the spot. His friend Ranjan who was critically injured was rushed to a private hospital at Mangaluru.
Padubidri police have registered a case.
