Udupi; Students of various polytechnic colleges in the city submitted memorandum to Pramod Madwaraj (MLA) demanded to complete carryover system same as Degree colleges.
Students demanded amendment of the present carry over system for the diploma courses or full subject carry over system. According to the present system, students failed in less than 4 subjects can only go to the next semester. In the last academic year the department had changed the system such that students could go to the next semester even if they failed in 10 subjects. But in this academic year the department once changed it to only 4 subjects.
Thousands of students will lose one full academic year due to the current system. Students appealed that they wanted complete subject carry over for like all other degree courses. Thinking the future of the students of IT, allow them to go to the next level without passing any subject.
Pramod assured of look in to the matter and said on Monday the matter will be highlighted in the legislature.
