Mangalore, July 20: It was reported on July 20, Saturday that directorate of revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials, Mangalore detained a woman along with her husband and child at Mangalore international airport for smuggling 2 kg of gold
Based on specific information, the DRI officials Mangalore intercepted and apprehended the family at Mangalore international airport. The family which included the woman, her husband and a child were caught smuggling in approximately two kilograms of gold.
It was said that two gold biscuits and a couple of chains have been wrapped up and hidden in undergarments found in her procession.
This is first of the kind of instance reported, wherein a woman along with husband and child were involved in smuggling.
The persons involved in the case were taken for further investigation and gold has been seized.
