BUNTS SAMMILANA (R) – A Socio Cultural Platform of the Bunts community organised “AIKYATHA 2016” ‘bisu’ celebrations with a Cultural evening at Seshadripuram College, Yelahanka, Bengaluru on 10th April 2016. The event is organized every year through Bunts Sammilana platform in the name of ‘Aikyatha’ (Unity) marking the beginning of new year for the community with tradition and cultural activities. This years ‘Aikyatha’ stage was named after the great Kannada poet & Writer Kayyara Kinhanna Rai and the Entrances were named after Justice K.S.Hegde (Former Justice of the Supreme Court & Loka Sabha Speaker), Sri A.B.Shetty(Founder of Vijaya Bank) & Dr.N.Karunakar Shetty (Doctor known for his social serive at Yelahanka).
Gracing the occasion was Dr.H.Sudarshan Ballal- Chairman-Manipal Hospitals Group, Dr.Indira Hegde – Renowned Writer & Research Scholar and Sri Ashwin Ajila- Founder MD of iNurture Education Solutions P Ltd.
Speaking on the occassion Sri Prem Prasad Shetty- President of Bunts Sammilana said “that ‘Aikyatha’ bisu celebrations were conducted over last 4 years in different parts of Bengaluru City marking the new year of the community with an intention to carry forward the traditions and legacy of the community. It is the need of the hour to know our roots and also build a strong foundation for future generations. The new generation youths of the community have excelled in various fields and it is time we recognize and encourage them to move forward but being rooted to their traditions and culture.”
On this occassion “Aikyatha Bunt Talent-2016 Awards” were given to Sri Aroor Jagadeesh Shetty – Director of many famous Kannada serials, Sri Pavan Shetty- Mr.World & Mr. India title winning Body Builder, Sri Saveen S Hegde- Enterpreneur & Comic theater Artist.
Delivering his Presidential Addrress Dr. Ballal asked the ‘youths to excel in their careers but not at the cost of the society and Nation but by contributing their time and talent to the welfare of the community.’ Dr. Indira Hegde reminded the traditions and culture of bunts community and asked the audience to know their roots well and pass the knowledge to the younger generations.Sri Ashwin Ajila spoke about the entrepreneurship amongst the youths and how to build their passion into a reality. He stressed the youths to go after the new age courses that are fast changing and not depend on the typical old way of looking at their careers.
There was a wonderful Cultural evening performance by renowned Artist ‘Chitra Mitra’ Prashanth Shetty and a Bhargavi Dance & Arts Academy, Udupi on the occassion which enthralled the whole audience.
