Mangalore, Aug 12: A bus and poultry- laden truck have collided with each other, which caused to death of a person and two injuries here on Monday August 12.
The deceased has been identified as Afroz alias Appu(25), was a resident of Faisalnagar, Bajal.
The truck was transporting poultry from Teerthahalli to Mangalore while the bus was plying from here to Vamanjoor. When the bus was in a bid to overtake at Kudupu cross rammed into the truck approaching from the opposite side.
Truck driver Abdul Latif of Faisalnagar and cleaner Noorulla of Ullal were injured. Latif is said to be critical.
A source says several chickens also died in the accident and total loss is estimated at Rs 10 lakh.
Kankanady rural police have registered a case.
