Mangalore, August 13: The Lokayukta officials raided the small scale industry office and caught red- handed a industrial promotion officer Vaman Nayak, while receiving the bribe here on Tuesday August 13.
Kalladka resident Jagadish, had asked for sanction letter from Nayak to set up a hollow block industry. But, Vaman Nayak tried to use the opportunity and demanded Rs. 7000 and at last the deal was fixed to Rs. 5000. Meanwhile Jagadish had recorded all the conversation, which was run between them.
Jagadish had complained to the Lokayukta regarding the bribery case, which Vaman Nayak willing to receive from him and passed recorded evidence to Lokayuktha.
Based on his complaint, the Lokayukta laid a trap for Nayak and while receiving the bribe from Jagadish, Lokayuktha caught Vaman Nayak red- handed. Now he has been sent to judicial custody and further investigations are on.
