Karkala; August 23: V Sunil Kumar, MLA from Karkala said in his address that due to this year’s heavy rain and the unsatisfactory works done earlier, city’s almost all the roads including the major roads have been damaged severely and movement of the public and vehicles has become very difficult. This is one of biggest problems of the city.In this context, it has decided to start tar work on all the city’s roads including main and major roads, once the monsoon is finished and make all the roads travel -worthy, he said.
With regard to two-lanes project from Jodurasthe to galaxy Sabha bhavan,he said after examining the road near Bundimata that for this road, already for town planning’s second phase work from Jodurasthe to Galaxy two- lanes and Kallotte-Pervaje road re-tar work, grant-in-aid has already been released and work will be started immediately after the monosoon period is finished,he added
He said that since the road-widening work in the city has been stopped, work will be resumed after discussing with shop owners within two-three weeks.
Town panchayat members like Giridhar Nayak, Prakash Rao, Sunil Kotian, Anita Anchan, Maya, Sridhar Devadiga, Yogish Devadiga,BJP president Maniraj Shetty, Antony D’Souza and public were present during the occasion.
