Mangalore, August 25: The former Kerala Chief Minister R. Shankar’s statue carrying procession inauguration held at Shree Gokarnanatheshwara temple, Kudroli on Sunday, August 25.
For the purpose of installation, statue had been taken to Thiruvananthapuram in the presence of congress leaders led by former Union minister B. Janardhana Poojari.
Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary said that R. Shanakar was not only a politician, but was also a social reformer. He was a follower of Narayana Guru and he gave his contribution for the betterment of the Kerala State, he said.
Chief Guest, Kerala Pradesh congress President Ramesh Chennithala said that the statue will reach the Kerala state on August 31st and congress party president Sonia Gandhi will expose the statue. Meanwhile, he also described the major role of Shankar towards Kerala government.
Sharath Chandra Prasad, General Secretary of Kerala Pradesh Congress, Ramanatha Rai, DK District in-charge Minister, UT Khader, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Vinaykumar Sorake, Udupi District Minister, Mohideen Bava, MLA, Ivan D’Souza, KPCC Secretary, Kodijal Ibrahim, District Congress President and others were present.
