Mangalore, September 3: A famous script expert Dr. Shreenivas H.Ritti from Dharvad has been selected for first national poet Govinda Pai memorial vidwath award- 2013, said Udupi National poet Govinda Pai research centre director Heranje Krisha Bhat.
Addressing the media person he said that the ward distribution programme will be held at M.G.M College, Udupi on September 6 in the noon. The Mohan Das Pai has given Rs.10 lakh in the name of his mother for this award and award including with 1 lakh cash and prize, he said.
The achieved scholars in the various field of national and international level will be selected to this award. Relevant field achiever will be gaining this award and in this year Dr. Shreenivas Ritti has been selected, he said.
‘The Dr. Shreenivas Ritti was professor in Karnataka University for several years and had a special vision on script research. He has been studied about countless scripts and he also has written about that in the form of book. His articles are published in the Epigraphic Karnatika journal and he is respected fellow in the national level, he introduced him.
Research centre secretary Muralidhrar Upadyaya, T.V Mohandas Pai, Vishwa Konkani Centre president Basti Vaman Shenoy, trustee Ramdas Kamath and others were present.
