Karkala; Sept 09: It was raining intensely outside on Sept o8, Sunday but inside on the dais students of Alva’s college, Moodbidri mesmerized the audience with their fabulous, thrilling performances in the inaugural function of Vishwa Nudisiri unit at Muniyal.
Students of Alva’s college have performed continuously for three and half hours on the stage and proved that they are not inferior to any other professional artists. They have not limited to particular region or art but given due importance to almost all the arts of the globe. An idea of giving importance to all sorts of arts in the universe by Dr Mohan Alva is highly commendable.
Bengal’s Puruliya lion hunting dance was a mind blowing performance. Stick dance and Manipuri Dol chalam was a thrilling performance by Manipuri students. Besides, students also performed folk dance Banjara dance,Marati lavanya dance,kathak sammohanam,Navadurgeyaru in Bharata Natyam style,Mohiniyatam,coastal regions Yakshagana both thenku and badguthittu Dashavatara and Hanuma Voddolaga.Candian dance of Sri Lanka was the highlight of the programme and lured the minds of the audience.
