Mangalore, Sep 19: A two-day national level inter-collegiate talent’s competition Siri Thuppe (Bequest-2013), organized by Besant Women’s College was inaugurated by Kadri Navaneeth Shetty, chief manager, RMD, The Times of India, on its campus here on September 18.
Inaugurating the event Navaneeth Shetty, said Tulu has gained worldwide recognition now. Tulu culture has implanted certain civilized values among the people of this part.
“The culture of this land has taught us to respect food and agricultural land. He said to the students must not forget the Tulu language and culture as it is the soul of our lives. Students must proudly introduce themselves as an children of this rich and generous tradition.
The various competitions were conducted under the sub-theme of the event
Prof. Pushpalatha, Principal of the college, Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, president, Women’s National Education Society (WNES), Mohan Nayak, Correspondent, Dr.Minakshi K Student welfare office and Student union president Ms. Niharika were also present on the occasion.
