Karkala; Sept 22: Jewelry shop owners and employees meeting was held on Sept 22, Saturday at Karkala police station premise.
Addressing the meet Santhosh Kumar Udupi additional SP said in his address that jewelry shop owners should take precautions about the gold and gold ornaments lying in the shop and have to join hands with police department to prevent burglaries, robberies.
He further said that robbers are waiting for a chance to attack, rob using modern technologies. In this regard everybody has to take precautions. Since most of the robberies, thefts are reporting between in the night 9.00 pm and morning 5.30 am, people have to be more careful during this period.
In order to prevent robberies, thefts owners and staff have to take more precautionary measures for the security, safety of the gold inside the shop. Shop owners must employ security staff during day and night shift and install CC camera inside and outside the shop. Alarm or mobile sensor should be fixed on the shop door. The people, who are coming and going frequently or wandering, loitering suspiciously, should be reported immediately to the local police station. Owners and staff should keep vigil, close watch on the people who are repairing their vehicle in front of the shop. When the people come for the sale of the robbed, stolen gold, police should be informed immediately.
