Suspend Higher Education Minister R.V Deshpande: Indian Muslim League Demands

Mangalore, sep 25: The Indian Muslim League of D.K staged a protest in front of DC office on September 25th, to suspend the higher education minister of state R.V Deshpande, who opposed to establish the University under the name of Tippu Sulthan.

Addressing the protesters Dastagir Ibrahim Aga of IUML national committee demanded government to start University in Tipu Sultan’s name.

He said, “What statement higher education R V Deshpande had given on varsity is going to damage the Congress in coming days. During election he promised of varsity and after coming to power in state, Deshpande said no for varsity. This is not tolerable by the community. The state government should start university at the earliest otherwise we will stage protest all over the country”, he urged.

 Addressing the gathering at the protest the district president of Indian Muslim League Ahammed Jamal said that Central govt decided to establish Tippu University in Karnataka, but Desh Pande opposing it. And he also said that there is no issue of establishment of university here. His statement affected the feelings of minorities. So that he should be suspended he added.

The leaders and members of the Indian Muslim League were took part in the protest.
