Mangalore, Sept 30: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza at Bishop’s House here on Sunday September 29.
After receiving felicitation from the Bishop, Siddaramaiah said that during my first visit to Mangalore itself I have made it a point to meet the Bishop just to thank him on behalf of my party.
Further he said, “I am ever grateful to the Bishop and the Christian community of coastal Karnataka for supporting my party and helping 5 MLAs from the region win the Assembly election, particularly J R Lobo in a special way.”
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza honoured the chief minister with a shawl, garland and fruits.
Later the Bishop handed over a memorandum to the CM on behalf of the Christian community of Mangalore diocese.
MLA J R Lobo welcomed the gathering. Advocate M P Noronha compered the programme. MLAs of coastal Karnataka, priests, religious and lay leaders of the diocese of Mangalore were present.
