Udupi: Thieves robbed a Jewellery Shop at Palemar and decamp with cash & jewelry worth Rs 5 Lakh
Thieves decamped with cash & gold ornaments from Dhanalaxmi Traders owned by Dinesh Prabhu on March 29 night at Palimar.
Robbers had entered the shop by breaking open the shutter.
Robbers have taken Rs 1.65 lakhs cash and 15 pawns of gold jewellery with them. The owner came to know about the theft when he opened the shop for business on Saturday March 30, 2013. It is being suspected that some locals who had complete information about shop are involved.
Karkala DySP Jayanth V Shetty, Kaup Circle Inspector Shivananda Valekar, Padubidri SI Mahadeva Shetty visited to the spot. Finger print experts and sniffer dogs were rushed to the spot.
A complaint has been lodged at Padubidri police station.
