Puttur, Oct 1: The police investigation has now revealed that the story of a woman’s escape from kidnappers and attempt to rape was a drama. But the reason is not clear yet.
Ragarding to this Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty has instructed the police department to initiate action against Naushida, and also the forces behind her, for misleading the public as well as the police department by falsely narrating her ‘kidnap’ story.
Naushida, wife of Khadar from Madavu, on September 25 had claimed that she was kidnapped and there was an attempted rape by a gang in a Scorpio car and that she was taken to Arambur in Sullia.
But, during investigation, Naushida reportedly changed her statement and said that she had created the story to fool her family. She was not kidnapped, but had herself taken a bus to Sullia without informing the family.
So that Shakuntala Shetty said Naushida had committed an unpardonable offence through her kidnap drama. She strongly suspected the hands of some forces behind Naushida’s kidnap story more so because she was a leader of the women’s wing of the PFI.
“In future, these kinds of instances should not repeat. Strict action should be taken so that no one else dares to attempt such a thing,” she said.
