Mangalore: Gandhi Jayanti programme was organized at Gandhi Park near town hall on October 2, Wednesday.
The Bharat Seva Dal organized Prabhathaberi procession from Ambedkar Circle Jyoti to Gandhi Park. Students from various school participated in the procession.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of Kalkura Prathishtana urged the gathering to follow his path of peace and non- violence.
Shatayushi Nittoni who is 106 year old was honoured by the dignitaries on the occasion. Students and general public gathered in large number to mark the occasion.
N Prakash, deputy commissioner, Dayanand, additional DC, SP Shanthanu Sinha, MLA Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC Monappa Bhanday, Shashidhar Hegde former mayor were present in the programme.
