Karkala; Oct 03: Addressing the gathering on the occasion of 144th birthday celebration of the father of the nation, the great Mahatma Gandhiji, organized by Block congress at party’s office, Gopala Bhandary, former Congress MLA said in his address that the great man, who fought through his non-violence principle, brought India a much needed freedom from the barbaric clutches of British, is a man to recollect to each and every citizen of India on this occasion, he said.
He was the man, who preached the message of truth, peace and equality to the entire world and has become a role model for all the citizens of India. In this connection, it is the duty of all the citizens of India to build new and strong India by adopting his principles –Truth, Peace and equality, he added.
Besides, non-violence was his biggest weapon to overcome any eventualities of his life.
