Mangalore, Oct 23: Senior Sankeerthana artiste and great veteran of Harikatha Sant Bhadragiri Achyutadas died of heart attack at his residence in Rajajinagar Bangalore on Tuesday October 22.
He was well-known among people for his singing and sense of humour. He used to narrate Sankeerthana in Konkani, Marathi, Tulu and Kannada languages. Till now he wrote more than 75 Keerthana’s n his fifty years tenure as a Sankeerhana artiste.
To his credit, Achyutadas has won several awards like Kannada Rajyotsava, Kanaka Purandara, Paryaya Prashasthi from Pejawar Swamiji, award from Sri Sudheendratirtha Swamiji of Sri Kashi Math and several others. He also honoured by Nadoja award.
The district BJP president K. Prathasimha Nayak, MP Naleen Kumar Kateel, former MLA N. Yogish Bhat, Kuble Sundar Rao, B. Nagaraj Shetty, Krishna J Palemar, Rukmaya Poojary, K. Padmanabha Kottary, Jayaram Shetty, Sathish Prabhu, Sanjeeva Matanduru, Shailaja Bhat, Kishore Rai, Umanath Kotain, MLA Monappa Bhandary, Capt. Ganesh Karnik were condole his demise.
