Kundapur; Oct 23: An orphan girl, who was working as housemaid in one the houses, was finally landed in Belur’s Spoorthidhama in Kundapur taluk on security ground eight years ago.
The same girl, by getting married with Venkatesh Kamath, a Bangalore based employee of Kota origin legally in sub-registration office, Kundapur, has become a role model for others in the society.
Kundapur origin Venkatesh Kamath and girl, who was sheltering in Spoorthidhama Pooja, the newly married couple.Venkatesh Kamath is a lab technician in Bangalore and Pooja is studying in 11nd P.U.C in Thekkatte pre-degree college.
In search of Bride:-When Kamath’s maternal aunties Vasanthi Pai and Shashikala Pai went to Spoorthidhama to distribute sweets, they had discussed with Spoorthidhama’s executive director Dr.Keshava Koteshwar about Kamath’s marriage proposal.Immediately,he recommended Pooja’s name, an orphan girl of the institution.
Thereafter, aunties, who discussed about an orphan girl in Spoorthidhama with Venkatesh and then shown the girl to him.Venkatesh, after seeing the girl, agreed for the proposal at first sight.
Marriage programme:-Family members of Venkatesh have given complete approval. Even Venkatesh’s father delightedly agreed for Venkatesh’s marriage. In this connection, on Oct 23, Wednesday Pooja and Venkatesh legally got registered marriage in Kundapur’s sub-registration office.
From bridegroom’s side, Venkatesh’s family members, friends and relatives and from bride Pooja’s side Spoorthidhama’s executive director Dr.Keshava Koteshwar were present.
No objection for studies: Since Pooja is studying in 11nd P.U.C, Venkatesh will not object her continuing studies, he informed to one of the medias. As he is also working in Gowribidanur, She will stay with his aunties in Kota till her education is finished. After finishing her studies, she will be taken to Banglore, he said.
Pooja said even if we settle in Bangalore after my P.U.C., the further higher studies can be done in Bangalore, she informed to one of the medias.
According to family members of Venkatesh, marriage of Pooja and Venkatesh will be held according to the custom and rituals, once Pooja completes her exam in April-May.
Both Vasanthi Pai and Shashikala Pai expressed their happiness over the marriage of Venkatesh and Pooja with the consent of all the family members.
No fence of caste and religion, no violence of dowry. This is the model marriage. By seeing this marriage, society has to improve and youth must learn from this marriage, says Dr.Keshava Koteshwara, an executive director of Spoorthidhama
