Udupi;Oct 27: Addressing the press reporters in the press meet held on Oct 27th,Sunday in Pathrika Bhavan,Udupi,Thallur Shivarama Shetty, convener of the team, has announced that’ 6th year’s Chittani Yakshagana Sapthaha’ will be held from November 5th to November 11th at Udupi shree Krishna Mutt’s Rajangana organized by Chittani Abhimani Balaga (lovers of Chittani team)
Sapthaha will be organized under the auspices of Sri Sodhe Vadiraja Mutt by Shree Veeranjaneya Yaksha Mitra Mandali Bangaramakki in association with guest artists.
Sapthaha will be inaugurated by Paryaya Sodhe Matadeesha Shree Vishwavallabha on Nov 5th, at 06.00 pm in the evening. Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge and Pramodh Madhwaraj, legislator will participate as guest of honor.
Valedictory function will be held on November 11th at 06.00 pm in the evening. In this function, shree Sodhe will deliver a blessing message. During the occasion, Padmashree Chittani Ramachandra Hegade’s award will be conferred on his contemporary yakshagana talent Jalavalli Venkatesh Rao.
Similarly, for the professional Bhagavatha and honorary president of Chittani Abhimani balaga T.V.Rao award, instituted by his children, retired teacher and an experienced artist K.Raghurama Shetty has been selected. Both this award will comprise Rs 10,000 cash and memenots.
From November 5th onwards everyday evening Shree veeranjaneya Yakshamitra Mandali Bangaramakki and guest artists will stage three hours duration Yakshagana.
