Mangalore, Oct 30: Unit of Backward Castes’ Union, undivided Dakshina Kannada has sought CBI probe into rape and murder cases of Sowjanya of Ujire and also they urged to not to involve the name of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala and Dr. Heggade’s name in the case.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Oct 30, Wednesday, M Jayananda Devadiga, Secretary of Backward Castes Union said that the police have fixed a mentally ill man into the rape and murder case and arrested him. Who alone cannot murder the murder and rape the girl.
The police and CID have failed to arrest the real culprits under the pressure charged from some powerful people he said.
He further said that some people are trying to foil the name of Dharmasthala and Dr. Veerendra Heggade. It is wrong to defame such a great personality like Dr. Hegde he added.
Hence the government must understand the feelings of Sowjanya’s parents and hand over the case to CBI, he urged.
