Demanding to withdrawal of Board’s decision muslim organisations stage protest

Mangalore, Oct. 31: Dakshina Kannada District Muslim Organisations Union staged protest on Thursday, October 31 against the notice issued by Karnataka State Waft Board which termed the Jummah Kutbah at Melangadi Jummah Masjid as ‘haram’.

The Wakf Board in its notice issued on October 24 to Mohiuddin Juma Masjid has declared that offering Juma prayers at the above masjid is “haram”. This statement is apparently against the Islamic ‘Shariah’.  Condemning this violence they staged protest.

The scholars from community, priest and religious leaders and political leaders belonging to the Muslim community from Karnataka and Kerala participated in the protest thus expressing their support.

The protestors demanded the immediate withdrawal of board’s decision and termination of the authorities responsible for the decision.

A memorandum submitted to the chief minister through the district commissioner.

K. Ashraf, former mayor, K.I. Abdul Khader Kukkila, Farooq Ullal and Sayeed Zainul Dakshina Kannada distrct Muslim Committee member Shahul Hameed, Abdul Hameed Kudroli, Mohammaed Hanif, Faruk Ullal, Saleem Handelu, C.M Musthafa, Ahmad Kabeer, Riaz were present among others.
