Udupi: Court sentences fake MLC to one month simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 by the court

Udupi; Nov 05: Kundapur 2nd   additional JMFC court sentenced M.N.Ravindran to one month simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10000/=.

Details of an Incident:-

 M.N.Ravindran, who arrived to Kollur Mookambika temple on 21.12.2008 and claimed that he was a member of Vidhana Parishath with the staff .The staff, informed the office of the temple about the same. After understanding the fact, the management has decided to extend him royral treatment under VIP quota for the God’s darshan.

After having finished his Darshan, he came to temple’s office and told them that he wants to call Dr.V.S.Acharya, then home minister. Accordingly arrangement was made to call Dr. V.S.Acharya by the trustee of the temple.

While talking on the phone, he was pretending as if he was talking with Dr.V.S.Acharya and was telling that you are not supposed be in home ministry, you should have been in Muzrahi department and in yeddyurappa’s government, Yeddyurappa does not have any hold and Janardhana Reddy is the king and supreme.

Doubting his actions, managing director of the temple immediately called then home minister DR.V.S.Acharya and asked him whether you received any telephone call from MLC, a moment ago.Dr.Acharya told them that no MLC has phoned him and asked them to give the phone to fake MP. When the phone was given to, M.N.Ravindran, he became nervous, got panicked and confused. Suspicious, home minister ordered him to be arrested and handed over to police.

Acting quickly to the order, police took him under their custody. On interrogation, not only he admitted his mistake but also it has come to light that he was a fake MP and the case has been registered against him by the Kollur police and produced him in the court. He was claiming that he was a land links and cinema financier.

Kollur, police have submitted a charge sheet against him to court.

The court which conducted an inquiry on Monday, sentenced him one month’s simple imprisonment and imposed Rs 10000/ as penalty. On behalf of government, Kundapur government advocate has argued.
